The Public Service Unions have agreed on a mid-year AVC of 0.45 months, which is higher than both the initial proposal and last year’s payout. Additional one-off lump sum payments will be provided for lower-middle grade officers ($250 for MX13(I)/MX14 equivalent, and $400 for MX15 equivalent and below).
Mr Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari, General Secretary, Amalgamated Union of Public Employees (AUPE), added:
“The Amalgamated Union of Public Employees (AUPE) is happy that the Government has accepted the public sector unions’ proposal for a mid-year AVC of 0.45 months, which is above last year’s payout. This is a fair recognition of the good work and contributions of our civil servants.
We welcome the additional one-off lump sum payments for our lower-middle grade officers, with $250 for MX13(I) and MX14 equivalent officers, and $400 for MX15 equivalent and below, which will bring further relief to them.
AUPE would like to thank all civil servants for their continued dedication and professionalism. While the economic outlook has improved, uncertainties remain. AUPE will continue to work closely with the Government to monitor the economic situation and calibrate the year-end AVC as needed.”
