4. Applicants who are currently pursuing a diploma or degree programme may also apply for this Scholarship for the balance of his\/her course fees from the point of
\nsuccessful application. No retrospective payment will be made for any course fees incurred prior to successful application.<\/p>\n
Eligibility Criteria<\/strong> Value of Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n 6. The Scholarship will cover 80% of the course fees on reimbursement basis, subject to a cap of $15,000 inclusive of GST. \n5. An applicant should fulfil the following criteria:
\na. Be a fully paid-up union member of AUPE with at least 3 years membership tenure;
\nb. Has leadership qualities or commitment to serving the community and be of good character;
\nc. Not be a holder of any scholarship, bursary or other similar award given by
\nGovernment, National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) or any other body;
\nd. Should already be in the course of study or applying for admission to a
\nuniversity\/polytechnic\/institute of higher learning for the course of study. The
\naward will only be given to an applicant who has successfully gained
\nadmission into the institute of higher learning.<\/p>\n
\n7. There will be up to 2 awards per year.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Be an ambassador of AUPE at his\/her respective workplace; and
\n\u2022 Assist AUPE at orientation briefings, members\u2019 engagement activities or annual AUPE functions at least twice a year for the duration of the study.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Completed application form;
\n\u2022 Curriculum Vitae;
\n\u2022 Copies of educational certificates and transcripts\/results;
\n\u2022 Letter of employment from the employer
\n\u2022 Detailed outline of the course of study;
\n\u2022 Letter of acceptance or provisional acceptance from the university\/polytechnic\/institution of higher learning;
\n\u2022 Letter of recommendation from current supervisor\/employer;
\ni. Personal Statement to share with us, in not more than 1000 words, on: What are your aspirations and what you hope to achieve with your studies;
\nii. How you can contribute to the Labour Movement and the workplace with your skills and competencies; and
\niii. How you have demonstrated leadership qualities or have taken higher responsibilities.<\/p>\n
